What is Guardia?
Guardia is a multi-layered, reusable surface protection designed to safeguard floors, stairs, benchtops, cabinetry, and other surfaces during construction or renovation. It’s waterproof, tear-resistant, breathable, and has a self-adhesive underside that keeps it firmly in place without tape.
How does Guardia compare to cardboard, corflute, plastic sheets or Ramboard?
Unlike these alternatives, Guardia:
- Requires no tape (it’s self-adhesive).
- Is reusable across multiple projects.
- Won’t bunch up or shift under foot traffic.
- Is waterproof and breathable, protecting against spills while preventing moisture build-up.
- Saves time and labour costs on installation and removal.
Does Guardia leave residue behind?
No. Guardia is designed to adhere lightly to surfaces to keep it in place without damaging or marking the substrate. For best results, edges should be overlapped by at least 100mm so the adhesive sticks to itself. On high-traffic sites, we recommend taping any leading edges for extra security.
Can Guardia be reused?
Yes — Guardia is completely reusable. After use, simply roll it up and store it clean and dry. With proper handling, you can reuse it across many projects, saving you money over single-use products like cardboard or corflute.
Can Guardia be used on concrete or newly sealed floors?
We do not recommend using Guardia on:
- Newly poured or curing concrete
- Recently sealed or coated floors that are not fully cured
- Substrates where in-floor heating is on
For these cases, any product (including competitors could cause issues. Always wait until floors are fully cured before applying protection.
How long can Guardia stay down?
Guardia can safely remain in place for up to 60 days. For longer projects, we recommend lifting and reapplying to ensure optimal performance.
How do I cut Guardia to size?
Lift the material slightly off the surface before cutting, applying pressure against a hard floor can fray the fibres. Use a sharp utility knife or scissors for the cleanest cut.
What sizes does Guardia come in?
Each roll measures 91cm wide x 30.5m long (27.75m² coverage).
We offer:
- Single Roll (1x) – ideal for small projects
- 3-Roll Pack – great value for renovators
- 6-Roll Trade Pack – bulk savings for tradies
- 30-Roll Pallet – distributor / stockist pack
How many rolls do I need for my project?
Coverage depends on your total area and overlaps. As a guide:
- 1 roll = ~27m² (after accounting for overlaps)
- 3 rolls = ~81m²
- 6 rolls = ~162m²
Example: For a 300m² area, you’d need approximately 12 rolls.
How do I clean up if any residue is left behind?
If residue occurs (rare), it can be removed easily with warm water and a neutral pH cleaner.
